You can also send in your questions in via my contact form and request a free 30-minute consult.
Of course! I can teach you as much you want to know so that you are comfortable with the level of control you have over your site.
Video Tutorials
Unless you want to become a web developer, the WordPress 101 Video Tutorial modules will teach you all you need to know about managing your site’s content. The last few modules go a bit further if you want to learn how to change your site’s theme or layouts.
You can purchase the WP101 course for under $25, or purchase a lifetime membership to the full suite of WordPress Video tutorials at a very reasonable rate.
One-on-one coaching
I also offer customized one-on-one coaching. When you sign up for one of my consulting packages, I will teach you all you want to know about the specific details of your site – from how to add a new blog post, to how to manage your plugins, social media integrations and other technical and content management details.
Custom coaching can also include digital marketing strategy development and business mentoring. Choose a package that works for you!
Your key contribution is the content for your site. Your words will convey your passion and your personality, an important aspect of connecting with your target audience.
However, if you are not a writer, you don’t have to do it all on your own. I can do some of the editing and/or writing for you, or I can bring in one of my professional writer associates.
Also, depending on your time and budget, you might choose to have me put together a team that includes a designer, a writer, a photographer or an advanced SEO expert.
You can also choose from one of my consulting and/or website packages for added coaching support, or to sign up for regular site maintenance.
It is all up to you!
But as you can imagine, the time it will take to build your site will also depend on your project’s scope, and how much each of us is signing up to do.
If you have the time to focus on building your site, it is not unreasonable to expect it to be live in 2 to 4 weeks. A really simple site using a template that requires minimum customization can be ready even sooner.
Read through the sample plan outline on the “Planning your website project” page to get an idea of what it takes to put a great website together. The more that you are able to contribute, the sooner your site will go live.
If you are focusing on other areas of your business, I can reach out to some of my associates who have expertise in writing, professional design, photography and other skills you might need.
So in the end, the answer to this question is – it is up to you!
The most effective way to assure that both of our expectations are met when we work together on your website is to clearly define our relationship with a written agreement.
To this end, I offer the following processes and documents to inform and guide us:
Every project is unique, so we can adapt these to your specific requirements.
